#96 Is Wild And Wonderful! It’s all about the Whites of West Virginia!

Hey, hey, hey, HYSTOphiles! #96 is here, and it’s truly wild and wonderful! Keith chose a documentary this time, and boy is it something to behold…

Like I said…

Folks, meet The Wild And Wonderful Whites Of West Virginia. This 2009 movie is just like Tiger King, but without the tigers! I’m not kidding. You will never forget these people, and you FOR SURE won’t forget SueBob’s sexiness…

Yes. Obviously.

Despite our being miles apart, we still managed to have a great time talking about this movie, and we also chatted about what’s been keeping us entertained lately, and I tell Keith what his next movie assignment it. We really hope you join our movie party, ’cause we really do want to know…

Hey you! Listen to this!

I’ve already made him watch the first two versions, to his delight, and now I get to find out what he thinks of the 90’s version.

Hey! I thought we told you to listen!

As always we also talk about what’s entertaining us lately, and Keith announces what movie we’ll cover during our next episode.

We really hope you join our movie party, because we really do want to know…

#93 might be our trippiest episode yet! It’s MIDSOMMAR with special guest Knives Monroe!

Yeah! Trippin’ af!!!

Hello HYSTOphiles! We are so pleased to present to you #93, which features our good friend – filmmaker and podcaster extraordinaire Knives Monroe! Keith and I couldn’t wait to talk to Knives about this episode’s movie, Midsommar. It truly is one of the most unique horror movies to have come out in years…

Need I say more?

As you can guess, we had a LOT to say about this Ari Aster film, and none of us held back! Knives even warned me ahead of time that he was “coming in hot,” and he did not disappoint…

Not that hot…

Along with our film commentary we have a blast talking about what’s been entertaining us lately (OMG The Invisible Man is so great! Elizabeth Moss!), and Keith lets us know what movie he’s picking for the next episode.

We really do hope you join us, because we REALLY do want to know…

Episode #91 is infested with rats! It’s 1972’s rodent rodeo, BEN!

Willard’s gone, but BEN lives on…

Greetings, HYSTOphiles! We’re back for #91 and it’s a 70’s celebration of teeth and fur! That’s right, we watched Ben, the 1972 sequel to the film Willard.

Yes. There’s plenty of this…

Keith and I were so happy to be joined by our good friend Shawna West, and we couldn’t talk about a horror movie from the 70’s without having Erin Casteneda along for the ride! We all had a such a great time discussing this film, and we managed to discuss the movie Willard as well!

A kiddie version of Willard? Maybe…

We also had a lot of fun talking about what is keeping us entertained lately, and Keith announces his choice for Episode #93! We hope you join our movie party, because we really do want to know…

#90 is surprisingly prescient…OUTBREAK!

That damned monkey!

Greetings HYSTOphiles! It’s Episode #90, and it’s contagious! Without having any idea of what was about to happen in real life, Keith chose Outbreak, the 1995 film starring a murderer’s row of famous actors…listen to this roster: Rene Russo, Morgan Freeman, Kevin Spacey (ew), Cuba Gooding Jr., Donald Sutherland, Patrick Dempsey, AND Dustin Hoffman…

You know: the famous action star…

We are so happy that our friends Shawna West and Erin Casteneda were able to join us for this one! I promise: none of us had ANY idea how timely this episode was going to be while we were recording it (although Shawna gave us a tip on where to find that kind of info).

So, Shawna, where would one pick up one of these ensembles?

Oh, and we didn’t forget to chat about what is keeping us entertained lately, and I announce my choice for the next episode!

We had such a fun time talking together about this film. We hope you join our movie party, because we really do want to know…

Episode #89 Blood Fest! Featuring writer, director, and star OWEN EGERTON!

Welcome, horror hounds!

Greetings,  HYSTOphiles! Welcome to Episode #89, and welcome to the joy that is BLOOD FEST!  I had forgotten that Keith and I actually saw this movie together back when it came out, but he was totally stoked about watching this love letter to horror fans again! We were especially excited to cover this movie because I also had the extreme pleasure of talking to the writer, director, and star of Blood Fest, Owen Egerton!

The man. The myth. The legend.

Owen is an author, a comedian, a scriptwriter, an actor, a director…geez, is there anything this guy can’t do?  I can’t even tell you how much fun it was talking to Owen; he shared so much great background info on the film, and we also talked a little about horror in general…

…but mostly, you know, Blood Fest…

Episode #88 has taken FLIGHT!

Nope. Nothing wrong here.

HYSTOphiles! Get ready for FLIGHT, starring the amazing Denzel Washington and directed by the we’ve-already-talked-about-how-talented-he-is Robert Zemeckis! This 2012 film features some of the most harrowing flight scenes I’ve ever seen on film.

Fasten your seatbelts…

Keith picked this one, and it was not at all what I was expecting. I will go ahead and tell you: it’s a terrific film! Denzel Washington is fantastic as “Whip” (no surprise). John Goodman has a small part, but he steals every scene he’s in. So worth watching!

These two. Amazing…

As usual we also talk about what’s been keeping us entertained lately, and I announce my movie choice for the next episode! We hope you join us, because we really do want to know…

It’s time to have yourself a HYSTO little Christmas! It’s Episode #87, our 4th Annual Christmas Special!

Merry Christmas!

Happy holidaze, HYSTOphiles! We’re back with our 4th Annual Christmas show! It was my turn to pick the movie so instead of going my usual horror route I decided to family-film-it and make Keith watch one of my all-time favorite Hollywood musicals, Meet Me In St. Louis, starring the legendary Judy Garland!

And she never looked lovelier…

Keith is famously NOT a fan of musicals, but with Cabaret and Hedwig and the Angry Inch I have been changing his mind film by film. Well except for Spice World, for which he may never forgive me…

Ooh! Spice World!

After we talk about the film we rate the movies we’ve made each other watch . Keith really surprised me with his choices, but you’ll have to listen in to find out what that surprise was all about!

We hope you join us for our Christmas celebration, because we really do want to know…
