Hello friends, and Happy Thanksgiving! If you listened to Episode #9 (and if you haven’t what are you waiting for?) you know that Paul has chosen 1974’s The Taking of Pelham One Two Three and I picked the film The Apple from 1980. Yes: I finally hit Paul with a musical, and he’s not thrilled one bit (heh heh heh). Look for Episode #10 to appear in December, and meanwhile…enjoy your turkey!
Happy holidays everyone, and welcome to our very first VERY SPECIAL HALLOWEEN SPECIAL!!! In this oh-so-special episode I take Paul to task over his choice, “Ankle Biters” (2002) (trust me: he deserves it…) We then discuss my choice: the controversial (in its time) “Halloween 3” (1982). We also welcome our friend and special guest filmmaker and fellow podcaster Knives Monroe from “Outer Haeven – The Knives Monroe Podcast,” who chose for us the modern classic “The Babadook” (2014). All of this, some spooky tunes, and (of course) we announce our choices for the next episode! Join us, won’t you? I need witnesses to hear about the cinematic pain that Paul has subjected me to…
Episode #007 is shaken, stirred, and blended for your listening pleasure, Mr. Bond!
Please join us in welcoming our dear friend Keith Karseno as he dares to become our first Special Guest ever! He makes us watch a horror classic: “Killer Klowns from Outer Space!” Be sure to tune in as all three of us discuss my choice for the Halloween season “Trick’r Treat,” and Paul and I discuss his choice for me, “Crooklyn,” “a Spike Lee Joint” (as Mr. Lee would say). Join in the fun as we dissect these cinematic treasures! We also announce our choices for next week (yes, next week!) when we present…
“A Very Special Halloween Special!”
…with special guest filmmaker and podcaster Knives Monroe, from “Outer Haeven: The Knives Monroe Podcast.“ And as you listen to our podcast, know that Keith and Paul had no mercy on me during the dart games that took place the day we recorded. I’m just saying…
Join us for Episode #6 as I succumb to the evil Listener’s Choice “Happy Gilmore” and Paul falls prey to the horror classic “The Evil Dead” (my choice, my pleasure, my vengeance). Will Paul survive this demon-filled gorefest? Will I come in under par with Happy Gilmore? Listen to find out, and also hear what movies we’ve chosen for Episode #7!!!
Happy Halloween Season!
So on Episode #5 we announced our movies for the next podcast…and it looks like it’s going to be both Happy and Evil.
I am making Paul watch the one-and-only original horror classic “The Evil Dead” from 1981, directed by Sam Raimi and starring Bruce “The Chin” Campbell. This movie has so many iconic moments…that Paul will probably not see because he’ll be so skeeved out…which he totally deserves because he let you all vote on which (god help me) Adam Sandler movie to torture me with, and the one that you all voted for was “Happy Gilmore” from 1996. I don’t blame you all: all the blame is on Paul for this one. I mean, I just recovered from having to watch a Steven Seagal movie…and now this? All I can say is let’s how he likes dealing with the Deadites in Evil Dead: he’ll be “DEAD BY DAWN” for sure. Watch for Episode #6 in a couple of weeks!
Here’s where to watch:
“The Evil Dead” 1981
Available to watch for free on YouTube right here:
“Happy Gilmore” is not available for free (as far as I can tell), but you can rent it for $2.99 on YouTube here:
Episode #5 is here, in which we celebrate John Waters and Steven Seagal…sort of. Paul and I had a blast discussing these movies: Paul said that his life will never be the same after watching Divine star in “Female Trouble” – you’ll have to listen to see whether that’s a good thing or not! I weigh in on Paul’s choice “Under Siege” starring “action thespian” Steven Seagal. Will I declare it a Treasure or Torture? You can probably guess, but you’ll have to listen to be sure! We also find out which Adam Sandler movie our listeners have picked for me to be tortured with: will it be Happy Gilmore or Billy Madison? Listen to find out…plus hear what classic horror film I have chosen for Paul to endure for next time!
Heya! We’ve announced the movies for episode #5, and it looks like Paul has really set me up for some inhumane treatment: a Steven Seagal movie? Are you freaking kidding me, Paul? Oh you are so asking for it… Anyway: here they are, and here’s where to see them!
Paul has chosen “Under Siege” starring the celebrated Steven Seagal (Damn you, Paul!) from 1992, and I picked “Female Trouble”, my favorite John Waters movie ever from 1974. I have a feeling there will be strong feelings about these films, and we’re also hoping you’ll vote for which Adam Sandler movie I have to watch per Paul: “Happy Gilmore” or “Billy Madison” (or is it “Happy Madison” or “BillyGilmore”?) You can leave a vote here, or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org….and know that I am NOT taking this Sandler punishment laying down…
Where to watch:
*UPDATE* Available for free on YouTube.
Also on Amazon for rent or purchase.
Available for rent or purchase from Amazon.
Don’t forget to let us know what Adam Sandler movie Paul is going to torture me with: “Billy Madison” or “Happy Gilmore” (retch…I’ll get you, man…)
Thanks so much for listening!
Our first Triple-Feature AND our first Listener’s Pick! Paul’s mom (our listener) chose “What Ever Happened To Aunt Alice?” from 1969. Paul picked the Humphrey Bogart/Joel McCrea vehicle “Dead End” from 1937, and I chose the giallo classic “Blood And Black Lace” from 1964.
Paul and I watched “Blood” separately as usual, but we got together before the show at Casa Ravingbull (our house) and we did a Double-Feature-Date: we watched “Aunt Alice” and “Dead End” back to back, then did the show immediately afterward. Great fun! AND Paul announces our request for you, dear listeners, to please contact us and vote on which Adam Sandler monstrosity Paul is going to make me watch: Happy Gilmore, or Billy Madison. (He thinks that’s bad? Wait’ll he sees what I intend to put him through). Oh yeah: we also announce our movie choices for the next episode.

Won’t you join us as we discuss these three films and decide if they are Treasure or Torture? Aw, c’mon! It won’t hurt…much…
Available on iTunes or wherever you get your podcast entertainment! Oh, and won’t you please subscribe to us on iTunes and give us a rating? Pretty please? We would to know what people are thinking about this experiment of ours…

“Dead End” is available for rent or purchase at Amazon Video (I don’t see the whole movie on YouTube)
“Blood And Black Lace” is, unfortunately, only available for purchase; it is currently not on Netflix, Hulu, or Amazon Video. There is full version of the film on YouTube, but it’s in Italian, and there are no subtitles that I can find.
We’ll be recording next weekend, so look for episode #4 the Tuesday after that.
Have a great holiday weekend, everyone! Maybe watch a movie or two? Have you seen THIS one? 🙂
The movies for episode #4 have been announced, and it sounds like there may be some Movie Treasure coming our way: “Dead End” (1937) starring Humphrey Bogart is Paul’s choice for me, and my choice for him is “Blood and Black Lace” (1964), the Mario Bava classic. ALSO: we view our first Listener’s Pick…and it’s from Paul’s mom: “What Ever Happened To Aunt Alice?” (1969). Paul and I do our first “Double-Feature Date,” and we will (of course) reveal our picks for the next episode (already have mine!). See you in two weeks!
